Castled530
Hi, I sourced a set of M550i 668Ms for the car with GoodYear runflats. The car had the 759is and PZeros. Has anyone upgraded suspension and/ or fitted spacers to make the G30 handle a bit tighter ? Thanks
Procion
I assume you want to improve the handling, but you don't specify if it's an X model or has active suspension. Regardless, by way of comparison. A G30/31 Alpina B5 runs either 285 or 295/30/20 rear, offset ET41 on 10" rims. Fronts are 255/30/20 offset ET25 on 8.5" rims. These are the widest tyres recommended for the quoted rim widths and will fit in the G30 arches. Attached for reference are the suspension geometry settings. Alpina use thicker roll bars, Alpina specific control arms and Alpina tweaked active suspension. Result? More grip than you would ever want to use on a public road without any sacrifice of comfort. If you're determined to mess with the car and get yourself into a potentially very expensive exercise, you could also look at the F90 M5 suspension set up (I can't advise the specs) which runs 275s on the front. Personally speaking, I've found the PZero 4 to be the best tyre for these cars. I would add my G31 530dx was pretty impressive ride and handling wise until I started driving the B5. Same bodyshell, night and day difference. Edited October 18, 2022 by Procion Grammar
