skyjawa
Similar to F10-65 I’ve done the air filter, micro (pollen) filters, oil filter and oil. bit weird in that I filled with 6.5 litres, idrive is happy as Larry saying level ok and showing full, but the dipstick is more like low. Left some in the boot to top up if I have to. also need to do the fuel filter, went to take off the under tray to access it but a few of the screws are rusted to feck, hard to get a socket on or socket does nothing - anyone got any tips for getting them out? Strip, clean and lubricate the front brakes. 33 minutes ago, skyjawa said: anyone got any tips for getting them out? Pair of self locking pliers Or drill them out. New ones are cheap as chips from eBay as are the plastic clips they screw into.

I dont use Bimmerlink so cant help you there, I use Bimmer-Tool/Bimmer-Code/ISTA+ NOTE: Oil changes on diesels, oil is always very black nature of the beast.. high compression ratios and EGR into intake to redigest makes oil black within 50miles. Hey Percha, This looks better... I was on the wrong screen before.

I did my cabin filter cabin recently too. Change it now at the next oil service. https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/79XFFS4WMS60?ref_=wl_share

No Eek it out a bit more You really want a proper battery tester to check it. If you do test it make sure you test it direct on the battery posts. If I test mine on the jump start points under the bonnet the results vary wildly but on the battery direct is much more reliable
skyjawa
Added another few hundred ml of oil. Idrive is still happy showing max, but I’m now just below max on the dipstick so happier that it has enough. According to the measure on the side of the castrol edge oil container, it’s now had just over 6.5l… Edited May 5 by skyjawa
Steve84N
Towed for the first time on Saturday... 360 miles later I came back with this (my daughter is also called Elise)! Managed 27mpg which wasn't too bad. I wasn't looking for this colour, I wanted a bright one, but by coincidence it's a very close match for the BMW. It's my perfect pair, each offering a different set of attributes. Running individual throttle bodies with carbon trumpets and carbon airbox. Sounds fantastic bouncing off a tunnel of trees through the Cotswolds.
RH27
Engine cover rubber grommets changed. The disintegrated one was on the alternator mount. Parts were an eBay special advertised as genuine. Came in what looked like genuine BMW plastic wallets and part code stickers and after much comparison with the OE parts removed, I think they were actually genuine... Happy bank holiday! Andrew
Washed it Even remembered to park the wipers A rinse with the hose to wet it then a power wash before spraying on the Korosol and Autowheel wash do their thing. Power wash rinse, quite a difference and I’ve not touched the bodywork. And of course a snow foam. And another power wash rinse. Still not touched the bodywork. Followed by summer wheels with new Michelin Primacy 3 on the front. Suspension hasn’t settled in this picture so that’s why it looks high. The Chineseium grade centre caps were fitted which weren’t the best fit but they look a lot better than the old ones.

Funny you should put that, when doing my service I noticed I was missing one - rear left, so ordered some up from Ebay - just waiting for them to arrive!
Andrew
Did 50 miles on the new tyres today. Car drives so much better on fresh 19” rubber than the older 18” winter rubber. Washed the winter wheels too.
skyjawa
Brake fluid service done, all that’s left now is the fuel filter. fitted new electric window/handle to replace the old vile one, 10 quid delivered from Ali express! It’s a bit more beige! But its not as bad as the photo suggests, and being brand new hasn’t faded like the rest of the car lol!
