Why the strut change , and what shocks did you go for? Notice much improvement?

I had a leak from one of the rears and the improvement in the drive was noticeable, so I figured if the rears were worn the fronts wouldn’t be far away plus I had a clonk from the O/S/F top mount. The wishbones and wheel bearing had had it so I figured, when I was in there and all that..... So much easier doing a strut without the lower wishbone in the way.

TRW shocks and Lesjofors springs, febi top mounts and bump stops. The TRW were the only shocks I could convince myself of being MSport, twin tube and gas pressurised. All the others were slightly vague on their spec.

Drive was brilliant, silent and tight, no clonks.

Not really "what I did to it today", more "what happened to it today".

Driving down the road this morning something flicked up over the bonnet and over the top of the car. I thought it was a crisp packet or a leaf, something like that.

Later in the day it was my daughter that noticed the BMW badge on front of the F10 had disappeared!😫

So, if you happen to be driving past M40 junction 15 and happen to see a BMW badge in the middle carriageway ...its mine! Mind you, it's probably been marmalised into the tarmac by several hundred articulated trucks by now

Would you mind sharing how much the lower wishbones cost you to get fitted?

Below is why I replaced mine, the strut bush was beginning to break up

IMG-2746.jpg

Plus I was in there doing the control arm and strut and wheel bearing so.......

I think I paid about £56 for each Lemforder arm

I paid £57.91 for each arm plus another £15 for each fitting kit (nuts and bolts) from Autodoc.

You man has probably charged you an hour a side, sounds about right if up on a ramp with easy access.

Bit the bullet today and fitted a new battery will code it tomorrow when i get into work and use computer in garage the one came out was in car from new 12 years so can't complain

Mine is also almost 12 years old and strangely enough came up with low battery warning yesterday. It has done a number of very short journeys (usual for us) so put the Ctek charger on it for 9 hours on recondition. Going to see this week whether it still holds.

Which battery did you go for?

It's been in the car since May 2021.

Sits around for 11-12 days at a time starts perfect.

Did drive from Newcastle to Plymouth and back in it few weeks back would have had a decent charge.

Think @Cadwell Parker has the same 1 was recommended by him.

Yes, that was me. Fitted over 2 years ago and after 60000 miles of more or less daily use it still looks to be in excellent condition.

I think mine came from the same seller as Marcos. I had no issues with them or the battery so happy to recommend both.
