Can't beat OEM for centre caps imho. I think it depends on your luck, the first Chineseium ones I bought lasted reasonably well but the last lot I got, were poor. Bought this time of year two years ago for £7.59 When I need new rear tyres I'll get the rims refurbed and treat them to OEM ones. 6 hours ago, duncan-uk said: I’ve had genuine ones and they’re just as bad. Yes, the originals degrade too perhaps just not as quickly. The question is tho, will a genuine set at £40 last 5 times as long as the ones I've just bought at £8 a set? Suggest not i put genuine on either the F11 or e46 i forget which and they're toast in just over 2 years so think i'd rather buy a set each spring! Another example of BMWs quality deteriorating then? My E60 set were still in good condition at 12 years old when I got rid.

RH27
So I noticed a funny vibration from the front of the engine. Find out the engine cover is resting on the alternator, inches from the aux belt. Lift it up and the damper has semi melted with sticky rubber goo on the mounting point. Just ordered 2x 13718512439 from eBay, thought I might aswell change both for a tidy sum of £10.99. They advertise as genuine, but whatever lol. BMW wanted about £28 total. I'm all for genuine parts but come on, how is that justifiable for rubber grommets!

Andrew
I was a wee bit naughty today.... I reset my brake fluid without having actually changed it. The reason I did that was so that in April 2026 it will be due again. I will bleed the brakes when I fit the rear brakes over the course of the next few weeks but I don't want to 'move' the date of the service. It was due in January 2022, but I over ran that till the April of that year and did it when I swapped the winters to summer wheels. It'll be reyt for a few more weeks. Steve84N
Pain in the bum when it won't let you reset the brake pads even though I'd changed them, too close to the last time or something. Anyway person knows best, not computer...
Andrew
My rear pads according to the iDrive have 60k remaining. Aye righto. So a new sensor will be fitted with the new pads and discs but I won't even attempt to reset the iDrive, my E60 rear brakes were the same, loads of distance according to the computer but not to my eye. New sensor in and just left iDrive be.
