Andrew
I reckon that’s just cos you are mean to your delivery drivers. Never had such an issue. 😛
duncan-uk
I'm sorry to say I found Autodoc very unhelpful in resolving a deliverly issue - they basically washed hands of it and said I needed to chase their courier... When we did a bloke arrived at my door accusing my wife of signing for it, which must be true she's in the habit of hiding parcels... Funnily enough it was lobbed in my front garden two days later no note, nothing. Its not a big garden and i work from home so go figure. I did though recently buy some track rod ends from https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/ which are seemingly a UK subsidary of AD which annoyed me as i was avoiding AD but their service was OK. Probably because when she answers the door to the delivery man, she mutters under breath to the bloke on the doorstep "what's he been buying now for that bloody car?" I believe the saying is pots and kettles... But since you ask a steering UJ and coupling has arrived, as have a pair of the panels over each inner wing with the rubber seals as mine are crumbling and also some rear trailing arm bushes as seems one is a little seized, alignment is very close but not quite there. Plus some odds and ends clips and bits. It better steer like a dream or its ending up in a loch!
Andrew
Some of my parts arrive free. 😛 Don’t you be polluting our beautiful Scottish water with your English rubbish now.
Andrew
Read it’s fault codes today. It only logged a sodding code for each rear speaker being disconnected to access the rear strut top mounts. Why would it need to do that? They we’re soon wiped from its memory. I did get one odd one tho.

They were weak links on the E39 and there is a specific tool for doing them but it’s always referred to as an E39 balljoint tool. Have you had them done on your E39
duncan-uk
I have the e39 tool yes. But i assume a universal type bearing press kit would work - the e39 is only really a set of bespoke sized cups. Will look on ebay to see if there is a cheap "bespoke"tool

Andrew
Got my Autodoc order today Amongst other things, I’m finally in possession of the elusive oil filter housing gaskets. To get to them I need to take the inlet manifold off so there is a set of gaskets for that too. All N55 owners these are your engines Achilles heel! HandyAndy
Well yesterday actually... back in the country for a few days for the MoT. Passed without advisories (other than 'covers fitted'). All good for another year...
Thresherinc
Today? This is on my 2011 F07 530d M-Sport in Sophisto Grey. I'll start by bringing this up to date: Replaced Headlight Module. Seriously scratched boot resprayed. Replaced the removed rear badges with gloss black ones. Mostly replaced interior bulbs with LEDs, I assume there's a trick to getting at the dome light bulbs, will work it out someday. Replaced all the wheel centres as the old ones were seriously corroding. Replaced Bonnet and Boot Badges. Added Apple Carplay and Android Auto to the ageing CIC iDrive. New air suspension pump unit and new air suspension bags. Replaced the chrome front grilles with some gloss black ones. Remapped Engine and Gearbox. Now that it's up to date, I have the parts for: Replace the dust covers on both headlight units. Steering wheel emblem. Centre dash aircon vent (broken horizontal slats). right side dash aircon vent (trashed vertical slats). I have the quotes for, just need the money now: Wheel Refurbishment Brake Caliper painting. I am intending on having a paint restoration done, but that's further down the line.
