Sgc22
2015 520d f11 msport car has a vibration around 70mph. Was serviced and motd last week no issues and no advisories. had the wheels balanced this morning, one weight was replaced with the same weight in the same place offside and near side wheel has a new small weight added but vibration is still there. tyres are Pirelli winter run flat tyres with about 3mm left on them, they have been on the car since I got it. any suggestions appreciated . Andrew
Where do you feel the vibration? Steering wheel? - Points to front brakes/front suspension worn Brake pedal? - Brakes in poor condition Thru the seat? - Tends to be in the driveline, wheels/tyres/bearings/propshaft/driveshafts Helps pin point where its coming from
Sgc22
Through the steering wheel, brakes were done with oem parts 3 months ago and been fine until a couple of weeks ago.
Percha
3mm left on RFTs will cause that I am afraid. I have witnessed it first hand, the tread looses it's structure.

When you brake the forces thru the arms change direction and can move slightly which is the vibration you feel.

That’s what my tyre fitter said when he balanced my wheels but i didn’t give it much credence

Not when braking, just driving on the motorway

Might be worth getting the wheels rebalanced and checked for buckles etc. If the tyre balacing machine is out of spec/calibration or the operator isn't as good as other operators, its not unheard of for tyres to vibrate at speed despite "just being balanced"
