Sgc22
Hi, Ive got a 15 plate 520d m sport touring. I’ve been hit with a Glasgow ulez contravention today. I’ve entered around 12 different reg using autotrader all m sport 520 and around 9 compliant and 3 not. Any reason for this discrepancey? Stressed
Its the date of manufacture that its based on not the date of registration. Your car could have been manufactured before 2013. BMW diesels manufactured after a certain date in 2013 were euro 6 compliant. A friend had a 2010 astra that wasn't London ulez compliant although they tell you petrol cars from 2005 are compliant. It turned out his car was actually manufactured in 2003 but not sold as new until 2010.
Sgc22
The v5 says its euro 6 and its nox rating is 0.037 and the compliance level is 0.08. Appeal submitted but can’t get my head round the cars of same age and spec being compliant with a few exceptions
Stressed
That's a result with the V5. Therefore means the ulez computer system isn't up to date
HandyAndy
And you can bet any authority isn't in any hurry to get a database up to date either.... think of how many will get the fine and just pay it to be rid of it. That's some serious money in the coffers. But even to the point where the 'error' is discovered and fines get repaid... that'll be one hell of a lot of interest earned. Think I'll just sit here on my grassy knoll and mull it over....
Andrew
6 hours ago, Stressed said: Therefore means the ulez computer system isn't up to date Of course it won’t be. This is Glasgow City Council one of the worst run councils in the UK we are talking about. It’s been plagued by years of snout in trough SNP cronies that milk the system for their own benefit, certainly not the City’s or its residents or its workers. I work in the city centre (I get the train in) and it resembles a war zone now. It’s so sad, litter, graffiti, boarded up shops and restaurants with junkies begging outside the Central Station. Even if you are allowed to drive in without getting fined for LEZ there are a crippling number of bus gates*, the parking is so expensive and has a max limit of two hours you can’t really do much. Not that there are any shops left due to the Councils extortionate rents, the fires that have shut Sauchiehall Street and now they are digging up Sauchiehall Street again. *you cannot drive to drop someone off at Central Station as it is surrounded by bus gates which fine you too! Remember, Scottish cites will fine you for entering the LEZ. You can’t pay to get it. It’s a fine. End of. Sorry enough of my rant, check your car here @Sgc22 https://lowemissionzones.scot/vehicle-registration-checker
Sgc22
I’m with you on your rant, and I checked my car and it shows non compliant, but the same spec cars are, appeal sent with the v5 evidence
Andrew
Good luck @Sgc22, keep us posted how you get on? Are you a fellow jock then? Or just passing thru Glasgow?

duncan-uk
You've raised my long time curious question about the Scots and that's you always "stay" rather than "live" any idea why that is?

I think there’s a BMW specialist out in Law which is more your side of Glasgow than mine. Presumably that was your first venture in the F11 into Glasgow since it became LEZ a year past in June. Ive not taken my F10 into town, since they introduced it. No need, especially given my point above.

'I'm away to see...'... I'm going to see... can take a while to pick up basic Jockanese. ... and don't ask who the hell Ken is !! Liam2594
Every LCI F10/F11 is ULEZ compliant, they were all Euro 6. The problem can be, Euro 6 wasn't actually implemented for registered cars until I think late 2015, although a few vehicles were compliant a fair while before this date. I think some (registered pre-Sept 2015) still show on certain systems as Euro 5 even though they are Euro 6. There's a few cars which aren't compliant which somehow come up as compliant and vice versa.
