Estoril Boy
Hi There, my car is due an oil change. It has 158k on the clock so getting pampered with 6k oil changes. My question is am i ok to run it with 5W-30 BMW oil? Looking through the history all previous changes have used 0W-30 Many Thanks in advance
Andrew
Use any oil you want as long as it says LL04 on the bottle.
Matthew
As Andrew says - LL04. Each time my cars have been serviced at BMW it has been 0w30 but 5w30 in the UK and any country with a mild non-ridiculously freezing climate is just fine. Rimvyz
I always used castrol edge 5w30 LL or 5w30 M on mine, both LL04, always ran perfect👏 I’ve heard 5w40 is better for higher mileage cars, still yet to try that as I’ve still got alot of 5w30😀 Edited April 13 by Rimvyz
RH27
I always use Castrol 5w-30-M. But anything LL04 generally speaking.
Andrew
I messaged Castrol to see what they recommend for my engine and they said same 5W-30M It was quite cheap from Amazon.
