BMW Profiles - data manipulation

Recommended Posts

I've dropped this in the infotech section, but it might be the wrong place.

I'm interested in the data stored in the profiles in the car/keys. Mainly, to see if they can be edited.

When exporting from a 2016 car running NBT, the profiles have a .mpd format.

Online research suggests this is either a media format, or database format. In this instance the latter is more likely.

I've used a text editor to open the file and it has legible headers and footers, but the 'meat' isn't legible.

It may be it is editable in a database application (I don't have any).

Does anyone recognise the format, or know how to edit the file type?

I'm thinking that it might be possible to code options/settings, outside of the car and then upload?
