GRAFF
Hi I have a 2019 G31 msport BMW that has been booked in to go back to the dealer in February for the egr software recal. Does anyone know once I have had stuff programed using Bimmer Code such as stop / start at the traffic lights, the annoying bleeping for the seat belt, my speedo has been changed as well as the colours plus the car starts of on eco mode and it has many other things done through Bimmer Code. My question is once I have taken my car to the dealers and they add whatever software they have to add or mess around with the recall on the EGR valve would I loose all my Bimmer Code what has been programed. Is there a way they can save what I have programed and just add there piece to it? The reason why I ask is because redoing the bimmer Code on it takes time plus reading through a lot of forums
E39mad
Welcome to the forum. I would suggest you email the service department of the dealer to find out what coding is involved and whether it alters current settings.

Matthew
Just to add to @ally's details, a dealer will never preserve your DIY coding, IF they are doing a software update, they have a standard approach to programming one or all modules with the latest factory software which has default coded settings built in.
