Sjl
Going to be on an extended trip and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for trickle chargers to keep the G31 battery in good shape? Seen one reference to the CTEK MXS 5.0 ….. Edited September 21, 2023 by Sjl
dj123
CTEK are pretty much the market leaders in battery tenders. However, i can recommend Noco - i've a charger and boost pack from them which are good, and performed well when needed.
Matthew
I've been using my CTEK MXS5.0 for about 8 years now across the 3 family cars and it does the trick. As mentioned, Noco seem good too but I have no experience as the CTEK just keeps on going. I have a number of the CTEK accessories too, extension lead and a 12v socket. Sharkfan
I've been using Accumate maintainers/chargers for nearly 20 years - they have never failed me and I have four of them.
Sjl
How many amps do you need for maintenance - I see the CTEK is 5, what about the NOCO and Accumate?
Mr H
I also use CTEK both for my Z3 and Lawn tractor 🤪 I can vouch for their suitability. To me, it looks like those used (and for sale) in BMW and Audi dealerships are just re-badged CTEKs.

My CTEK MXS5.0 is specified for batteries up to 110Ah and the MXS7.0 up to 150Ah. for our cars the MXS5.0 is just fine.
