shakey Posted March 23, 2023 Share Posted March 23, 2023 Hi all seem to have forgot my sign in password so am waiting for a reset password email so am creating a new topic as a guest for now well my current e28 m535i dogleg gearbox decided to give and and no longer functions after it went bang so have found a seller whos offering me a getrag 265 over drive Part No: 262 0 0510 90 225 / 1.3 with the removable bell housing would this gearbox be a direct swap over to replace the bad dogleg gearbox which is currently fitted to the car ? or would i need to replace the prop shaft or maybe the gearbox support bracket or gearbox rubber mounts as well to fit the replacement 265 overdrive gearbox ? any advice would be appreciated thank you Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sir Anthony Regents Park Posted March 24, 2023 Share Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) They are externally almost identical (different detail on the rear cover) so a straight swap. The rear mounting bracket, propshaft and gear linkage plate are the same. Make sure you don't end up with a 265 from a Jaguar (3.6 XJS etc) or an Opel.
