Brake pad change

Hi there,

Sorry if this was asked , i tried looking through posts but could find anything.

Im planning on changing my brake pads very soon, but ive come to understanding that i might have difficulty changing them all due to electronic hand brake. Ive got BMW 5 series F10 Lci , is there anything special i need to do to turn off the e brake for the time i do the change or it shouldnt be affected?

Thank you

Either buy Bimmerlink for around £30 which allows you to wind back the motor, or unbolt the motor from the caliper and wind it back manually.

Ooh well im in luck , i do have bimmerlink, i didnt realise it has that option! Do i wind back the motor before starting the job or when im there looking at it ?

Thank you for your answer

You need Bimmerlink, Bimmercode is different stuff. Wind the motor off before you unbolt anything and remember to chock the car. Still cheaper than paying someone else and Bimmerlink does other things like new battery registration.

Nice one! Thank you, tbf , bimmerlink aint that expensive will be worth it. Thanks for your help
