How did you get NOx emission separately for year car? NOx value is on the V5 for my 2001 525i (0.06). As others have said, CoC from BMW took around 2 weeks with all the info required for exemption. Contacted the Scottish mob and within a few hours it was all sorted. eccoc@bmw.co.uk is the link to ask BMW directly and its free!

It took me at least 4 weeks to get the COC for the 1998 model. It only gives the total emissions for HC and NOx. They refused to give the NOx value separately.Yet they did for Amanda's 1998 model. That's discrimination surely. The same rules would have applied to both car of the same year!
Tom.B
Are all e39 535i and 540i ULEZ if I were to buy one and send off for the COC if not how do I choose one that will be compliant?
Andrew
Get the reg number and run it thru a LEZ check website. The M54 engines in E39 are lez as are the N62 V8s which are in the E60s. I think the older V8s might struggle for lez. Why have a horrible soulless electric car that may set you on fire when you can smoke around (literally as they all need their valve stem oil seals doing) town in a decent petrol engine. duncan-uk
I dont think the M52 engined cars are ULEZ compliant, my mates 1998 e36 328i (with same engine) isn't.

You are probably right, but the OP has a 523i, outside chance there might be a difference with the smaller capacity?
