Steve VH
The N57 engine catching fire several times while on police duties, worrying? https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/bmw-halts-the-sale-of-all-police-cars-to-forces-in-the-uk-with-immediate-effect/277526
duncan-uk
As it says the issue seems to be how the police treat them, sat idiling for hours on end so very hot and then thrashed instantly - not the scenario mosut of us find ourselves in day to day. Steve VH
I read it as bmw stopping car sales to the police due to demand outstripping supply, I don't know if the police buy outright or if they are leased, but the end of life value must be less than normal company cars due to mounting holes in the dash and bodywork. Regarding the catching fire, presumably the Volvo V90's with similar treatment are not catching fire.
