Steve VH Posted November 30, 2022 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Would it not be far better for car coolent thermostats to fail in the open position rather than the closed, so spring loaded open rather than shut, at least then they will be fail safe, and not result in a VOR. But usually they do fail in open position. I have seen good 20ish failed thermostats in open or party open position, never one which is stuck close.
