  1. With the E36 I took a deposit via Bank Transfer and took ID. Came back for the car 2 days later having paid the balance 24 hours prior. With the F11 they paid for and took it at the same time. Bank transfer with ID. Each time I move the money straight out of that account and into another.
  2. Not my experience at all. Have sold lots of cars privately - two BMW's in the last 15 months (F11 and E36) and every transaction has been pleasurable and without pain. No doubt some people can be a pain but say all are always twats/liars is tarring all with the same brush and simply untrue.
  3. Nice F10 you have there. The Luxury version is rare. I would sell with the 18"s, people will look at this over an M Sport for comfort rather than dynamics. Spec looks good with Comfort Seats. Anything else from the options list? Car market is very subdued at present. Priced correctly though it should generate some interest. GLWTS
  4. There's a very good autobox repair/service company in Leek Staffs if you are relatively close
  5. I've never done extended warranty before. This cars more technical features have me at a slight quandary as to whether to go for one. I'm sure the cameras alone are a small fortune if they go wrong. Having said that like your G32 there have been very little reliability issues known with the G30(1) (2) series cars even though now they are coming up for 8 years of age since launch.
  6. I would add the cost of the uninsured drivers to that. There are tens of thousands of them who do not insure because they cannot afford it, are banned or the car doesn't have a valid MOT. The insurance companies pay out for all these uninsured drivers when the have an accident.
  7. It's now 10 months and 10000 miles into our ownership of our 520d M Sport LCI. Car is on 33000 miles in total and recently turned four years old. Absolutely no issues to report failure/repair wise. The average MPG since ownership is an impressive 57mpg - the old F11 520d was at 43mpg. A quiet August leads to more long distance journeys in September with Wales, Northumberland and then taking daughter back to Uni in Portsmouth. We have also booked to drive down to Southern Spain in January to get out of the British winter for 6 weeks. Best features of the car are: Driving Assistant Professional where the radar cruise control can take the heat pain out of motorway jams, this mode can be "upgraded" to steering assistance whereby the car stays in the lane with input on the wheel (just a touch) about every ten seconds or so. The 360 degree cameras - it's a big car and these are superb when parking, reversing or on the motorway where they blind spot monitor with warning triangles in the rear view mirrors that light up only when a vehicle is there. The Android Auto for Waze and Goggle Maps works superbly and finally the Head Up Display which I now would not be without. The first MOT is due in October when the AUC warranty expires so it will go back to BMW beforehand and then the decision whether to extend the warranty or not. Overall an absolutely brilliant car - well recommended.
  8. It's done that way so you can stow it under the boot floor - ie don't have to leave it somewhere else when taken out.
  9. Great cars - personally think the G31 is superior in most ways to the F11. SE is an unusual spec in a 530d - does it have many options?

Lovely car that Mark. Hope it goes to a good home.
  11. Brakes failed on this one on the M62 earlier this year and they couldn't stop it 😬 https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/police-issue-update-arrested-m62-28817430
  12. I think I Pace is an ICE whereas the E Pace is the EV. JLR have a poor reputation particularly for electrical reliability. I'd only enter with a bullet proof manufacturers warranty
  13. Great car the G30/31. An improvement over the F10/11's. We had to rule out the 530e touring for two reasons: one the boot space is compromised because of the batteries and we need the space and two most of our journeys are long which means you do get the efficiency that you would from a diesel or benefit from the "commute" or shorter journeys. Try and get one with adaptive suspension and Comfort Seats for the best ride comfort. 530e's tend not to run on 20" rims but 18"s or 19"s which are acceptable with none run flat rubber if there is no adaptive suspension.
  14. Thanks - the car continues to excel. Unfortunately had to come back from Cornwall yesterday and got caught in numerous the M5/M6 car parks. The driving assistance professional was superb in stop start traffic taking away a lot of the strain and just having to touch the wheel every so often to keep it activated. 60 mpg on the way down and 57 on they way back despite the stop start nature of the journey. Would still have liked the softer leather especially for longer journeys but it doesn't diminish how great an all round car it is.
  15. It could well be a detuned 3.0 litre six cylinder car. The initial 525d's were a detuned 3.0 diesel.
