  1. Sold her 😞 Huge thanks to everyone on the forum - enjoyed the daily check in, tips, tricks and saving thousands of pounds. At 165k she has cost me a few quid this year (rocker cover & gasket, oil filter gasket) I know I was about to start chasing problems with aging bushes/rubbers, CATs etc that I don't have the stomach or cash for. Fancy what will (hopefully!) be a period of spanner free motoring and bought a Tesla Model 3 - sacrilege I know but with 36k, a year left of warranty and 5 years for the battery I fancied a wee shot of something quite different. Cheers and all the best for the future!
  2. Had quite severe tramlining, especially when driving along/over "seams" on a road with my old E91 320D on 1/2 worn run flats - changed to non run flats (Bridgestone Potenza) and the problem disappeared. The car (non M Sport) did feel ever-so slightly (hard to be looking to notice it) squirmy when changing direction but the improved ride and removal of tramlining more than made up for it. I have used non run flats ever since.
  3. Impeccable timing - thanks @Andrew Passing truck kicked up a stone, so random!
  4. BMW Badges & Wheel badges (cyled.co.uk) They look like proper (maybe even better than!) genuine BMW ones - the Ms are silver not grey like some of the ones I got on eBay.
  5. Spot on! Mine went at 120k on my 530d N57 F11 πŸ™‚ Same - Β£500 at my local indy.
  6. Had a new rocker cover and gasket fitted - had intermittent oil leaking at the back left, dripping on to exhaust/dpf with nasty smoke coming into the cabin. 161k, so not bad for the original.
  7. Oooooft - literally one of those situations that literally make me shudder!
  8. That's a tasty F11 and the wheels are nice, but nice as they are they don't look OEM to me - your new ones do, which I prefer. Space Grey really is my favourite colour of 'wagon!
  9. @Steve84N After experimenting with a different colour of wheels on my Space Grey F11 I went back to OEM silver as I just think the car looks best on the 351M wheels but those look perfect - they look like a deluxe version of the 351Ms while still maintaining the factory look - lovely! The Michelin Pilot Sport 5 I bought is a nice looking tyre, the sidewalls have a cool black "fuzzy rubber" that looks great. However they have very small kerb protection which does not bother me as much as I thought it would but something to note for anyone considering them. Size is standard for the wheel, 245/40 19, and they don’t look as stretched on the sidewall as the Eagle F1s I had previously, I prefer the squarer look.
  10. Sent the driver’’s seat off to get new foam in the lower bolsters and base - 158k and my aging backside needs all the padding it can get! Nice opportunity to get a good hoover done πŸ˜€
  11. I've used Roofbox a good few times and always had quick delivery and fast (same day) responses to queries/support - I think it's that rare thing of a family run business so you get to speak to people directly instead of those hideous Ai chatbot things πŸ™‚ Agree on the black bars for the saloon Space Grey - will look great.
  12. Good choice of hobbies! Dipped back into 1/10th RC buggy racing for a couple of years there after a 30 year break, had a blast πŸ™‚ The OEM BMW bars look terrible to me, far too tall and ungainly. I also prefer the flush bars rather than the T shaped through ones - look much slicker imo. I have the Cruz ones in the link below and leave them on the car as I think the F11 Touring actually suits them - a proper family action sporty look πŸ™‚ You do lose a bit of space with the flush bars - I can get 3 (adult mountain bikes 27.5 inch wheels and High Roller/Minion 2.3 tyres) on no problem and for the odd occasion I need to I can get 4 carriers with bikes if I loosen and turn the handlebars and remove the pedals (pic below). As for bike carrier I use the wheel clamping ones as I sometimes have carbon road bikes on them and don't like the Thule clamping on the downtube. The Yakima ones also look great in the stealth black and feel really good quality, especially the plastics. Saloon: Roof bars & Roof racks | BMW 5 series four door saloon (2010-2017) (roofbox.co.uk) Touring: Roof bars & Roof racks | BMW 5 series Touring (2010-2017) (roofbox.co.uk) Yakima FrontLoader 8002104 (roofbox.co.uk)
  13. Space Grey F11 - I tried the wheels a dark grey and didn't like them so back to silver. I do like factory but I really like the subtle grey badges for just a wee bit of individuality πŸ™‚
  14. Got the refurbished wheels and new tyres ready for fitting. Wheel colour is Reflex Silver A44 I found a website that sells very convincing M Sport badges at very reasonable prices (have bought cheap ones from eBay before but the M was white/dull instead of silver). https://www.cyled.co.uk/bmw-badges-wheel-badges?page=2 Which is the best combo of the three? 1: Grey 2: Black, yellow and red 3: Factory original
