  1. Yep! The plate is still going strong! 😄👍🏻
  2. Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. It’s well specked overall. DDC suspension, sports auto, ceramic controls, reverse camera, Harman Kardon sound system etc I think the problem is that I don’t have much time to sell it and it doesn’t really benefit me financially to do so. I’m putting the 18’s back on tomorrow and I will definitely sell the 19’s separately. I paid £1100 quid for them only a few months ago so I should get some of that back at least!
  3. I’ve just ordered a new car (Non BMW) which should arrive in the next few weeks. My 2015 535d luxury (102k miles) was bought used on a PCP deal which ends in February. My plan was to just hand the car back (Voluntary termination, which I’ve done before), but it strikes me that this car is too good to just hand it back and watch it head off to the BCA. Does anyone think it would sell quickly here or elsewhere £9K would be an unbelievable bargain IMO and I’d rather it went to someone on here who would look after it that way I have. I would pay the finance off before the new owner bought it.. Virtually mint with full main dealer service history all its life and thousands spent recently in warranty work making if a bit like triggers broom. (In typical main dealer fashion, in order to trace a symptomless error on the iDrive which turned out to be a sensor, they replaced loads and loads of things to track the fault 🤦🏻‍♂️)I have posted the details on here previously. On top of that, it’s had the air con system replaced at the beginning of the year and only serviced a few thousand miles ago. Or should I just hand it back? Take off the current 19 inch alloys, put the original 18’s back on and sell the wheels separately.. That would be the easiest thing to do.. Any thoughts? How long is it likely to take to sell in the current market?
  4. Full service with the main dealer who kindly relieved me of £608. My local specialist quoted me a bit cheaper (£450 ish) but it’s had main dealer servicing all its life and the OCD side of me wanted to keep that going.
  5. I knew it was coming but almost missed it…. 🙂
  6. Software update question, aka todays random thought.. As far as I know, in the 3 years I’ve had the car, it’s never had a software update (or BMW have never told me if it has). This is the software version in my 2015 535d. Is this the latest for my car? The BMW website where you can check on your VIN says it is?
  7. Literally 1 week after fitting, I have scratched over half of this very rim…. It’s being repaired tomorrow… 🤦🏻‍♂️
  8. Thanks guys. You would think that both discs would be the same price then? Weird…
  9. I’m looking for the best priced brake discs and, being pretty useless with mechanical matters, I wondered why there are different part numbers and prices for front left and front right discs? Also, does anyone know what brand of discs are used by the main dealers? They will charge me £600 all in for front discs, pads and sensors. Looking at these sorts of prices online, it seems there will be very little difference if I go through them… I’m looking at about £400 in parts and then I have to find someone to fit them. £600 doesn’t seem to bad or is it just me?
  10. 19inch 302’s fitted and I’m chuffed with how they look. They really seem to fill the arches out nicely. Will add a photo at some point. I'm also impressed that there is no discernible difference in ride comfort compared to the old 18’s.
  11. I agree! Alas my skills won’t stretch to doing it myself.
  12. I didn’t think I would, but I really like number 2!
  13. Car has been with the main dealer for some repairs after the AC/heather fan stopped working. They replaced the blower regulator and the blower motor in order to fix. This will be the last time I use a main dealer as the price for this repair work was over £1000. Seems pretty high to me. Can’t argue with the service though, they are all decent chaps. They have apparently identified the cause of the squeaking I get when driving slowly over speed bumps. They say both front spring strut mounts need to be replaced. I’m going to leave this job to a trusted local mechanic as I’m sure I can get this fixed cheaper than the £633 they quoted me! Also had the MOT done which highlighted one rear tyre being at 1.7mm which stunned me tbh! The other rear is on about 2/3mm and the fronts rest are around the same so time to replace them. They are Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres and I’ve only done about 15k in them so they haven’t really lasted as long as I would have hoped. The wheels also need a refurb so I’ve decided to side step both of these and buy new/refurbished wheels that already have good tyres on. I’ve gone for a set of staggered 19 inch style 302’s. Should have these by next week. Dunlop fronts and Pirelli rears. This will be the first time I run different makes of tyres front and rear so will see how that goes.
  14. The link I found is https://discover.bmw.co.uk/help/ownership/anti-corrosion-warranty-cover I’ve only owned it for the last 3 years, but it’s only ever been bought and sold within the BMW dealer network and has had a BMW warranty running since brand new. Hopefully they won’t quibble, but I’m not holding my breath!
