  1. I would strongly suggest getting any fault codes read... Unless it's something obvious, fault codes could give you a far better idea where to look.
  2. Have to admit, I had pirelli on my Granada back in my BAOR days... awesome grip when new, but really didn't last that long. Granted tyre technology has come a long way since, but I believe pirelli still have that same 'problem' with not lasting as long as other premium brands. That said, I had BF Goodrich on my 3.2 Vectra... not for long... amazing grip initially but 13-14 months later they weren't far off illegal.
  3. If it's not been cleaned, like him my money's on that then. A proper bidirectional clean then refit and adaptations reset and you should be laughing.
  4. Personal choice - from experience Non-runflat Michelin crossclimate
  5. High back pressure warning indicates constriction within the dpf. Assuming it's not a faulty/failing pressure sensor then the options are clogged dpf itself, or of the bypass tube. The bypass tube is where the pressure sensor gets its comparison from. As you've done a run and the soot mass has dropped (dramatically) I'd guess it should now clear the fault. But if it built up to that extent it may indicate regeneration isn't taking place.
  6. Don't get me started.... I had enough of that with a Scots regiment... 'can o juice'... can of pop/soft drink 'going up the road'... returning to Scotland 'I stay at...' ... I live in... 'I'm away to see...'... I'm going to see... can take a while to pick up basic Jockanese. ... and don't ask who the hell Ken is !!
  7. And you can bet any authority isn't in any hurry to get a database up to date either.... think of how many will get the fine and just pay it to be rid of it. That's some serious money in the coffers. But even to the point where the 'error' is discovered and fines get repaid... that'll be one hell of a lot of interest earned. Think I'll just sit here on my grassy knoll and mull it over....
  8. Standard diagnostic... Swap the tms units over and see if the fault follows. Always start with low/no cost option. In removing both tms modules you'll be able to check for fluid discharge, mold, corrosion and check the part number on both modules to see if one has been swapped out. Just remember to mark the good one in some way... a dab of paint, wife's nails varnish or something before you take things out.
  9. Just worked that out while checking out boot stowage... Thx
  10. I'll be doing the discovery over the weekend, but looks pretty basic to me. I'm not a fan of toys... too much I'll never use to go wrong. I had an E61 before the F11 and I felt the F11 was a massive improvement in many areas. Obviously the G31 will have differences, but time will tell if I find them improvements or not. First slight oddity is the two piece load cover. Not sure why the change, other than the two parts are lighter when dismounted and easier to manhandle.
  11. Unloaded the spares now.... 4 x style 618 17in w/tpms 4 x Rial X10 7,5x17 ET27 5x112 17" w/tpms Much cleaning to be done, then selly, selly.
  12. Guten morgen you lot, Last night's arrival... New to me, 2018 G31 530d. A weekend of playing awaits...
  13. Yep, got a buyer for the F11 within 48hrs. Being Euro 6 it gets a Green 4 sticker here so it's not banned in the main cities either, so the guy buying it is loving what's coming his way. It's currently showing a gnats nadge over 263,000km, passed everything MoT since I've had it with little more than 'covers fitted' as advisories. Drives great, awesome economy and buckets of power on demand. It's not pretty as the de-policing took the surface off the bonnet and roof paint, but I have a buyer lined up who looked at it this morning, so yes the market is still there. Govt vehicles were purchased with the latest available eco level, hence a 14 plate being Euro 6. The new one was delivered last night. After the formalities, the first thing I did? Set everything to English!! Just got to unload all the extras now... Came with 2 sets of (I think) 618s and another set of a twin spoke I have yet to identify. Edit: now identified as Rial X10 7,5x17 ET27 5x112 17" All wheels on and off tpms fitted. I'm thinking clean and flog.
  14. Well I took the F11 for a little drive in the glorious sunshine (I'm sorry... is it not sunny in blighty?). The purpose of said drive.... for me to go take a look at a rather nice G31 530d. After a good 30mins crawling over, under, inside and through it... VIN check, test drive and operation of every system it's possible to operate, I agreed on a purchase price. So in a couple of weeks I'll be shuffling next door to the G mob. Not yet worked out what to do with my aging F11, I suspect in the current world a old, large diesel isn't going to do good things in the marketplace, so sadly may end up on das scrapheap.
  15. Please listen to the following safety announcement..... zzzzzzz 🫣
