  1. So all the bits arrived for the rear dampers except the top mounts...and they should arrive tomorrow or Friday. Hopefully by Monday it'll all be fitted.
  2. Thanks for this...I'll get the top mounts ordered as well then. The bump stops are completely wrecked. I went for TRW because the price/quality ratio seemed pretty decent. I've read some decent reviews. Car is also on 207000 miles now so at some stage in the not too distant future it'll probably have to be changed....not that I want to particularly...has been and is still a great drive and suits me well with carrying kidd and all their associated junk!
  3. It's now on 207000! ....so no real surprise! I think in the very near future I'll have to do the fronts too..but they do feel OK for the time being.
  4. Noticed the F11 getting a bit twitchy at the back and when going over bumps at speed I get a kind vibration for a second or so. I'm assuming it's the rear dampers that are on the way out....had the airbags changed a couple of months ago so deffo not those. I've ordered these up so hopefully will sort the issue.
  5. Nice! I did the same a while back with mine...went from 17s to 18s in a dark gunmetal. Looks great against the space grey!
  6. Mine just clocked up 200k on a run up to Dundee over New Year. Had it MOTd at the beginning of the month...flew through with only front brake pads showing an advisory. Even the guy that did the MOT said it doesn't feel like it's done anywhere near 200k miles...still feels tight with no rattles. Some idiot knocked the o/s wingmirror off the other day...found the cover at the side of the road... put it all back together and works a treat. Just the clear indicator lens broken so ordered a couple of 'chasing' indicators off ebay for 30 quid. Should arrive in the week so will fit both then.
  7. There is a recall for the EGR system but it relates to monitoring software....I received the letter a few days ago.... https://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/876-new-recall-noticedde-control-unit/
  8. Anyone had this one through the post or even completed it yet?
  9. Agreed..that looks excellent! Did they make the steering wheel a bit 'chunkier' ?. Looks way better...I'm not that far away in Taplow....if its reasonable I may do that too.
  10. I recently changed from run flats to regular tyres on my F11 fitted with 18 inch wheels. Used to get really annoying tramlining with the RFL tyres as well as the usual harsh and hard ride. These feel so much more comfortable over rough tarmac surfaces and on smooth tarmac very quiet indeed. Tramlining has completely gone too. The new tyres are Barum Bravuris which I have used many times before...its Continental's mid range brand and they're very good imho. Even the fitter said the tread pattern is the same as some Conti's. 380 quid for four IIRC from Camskill...plus fitting on top.
  11. Hi All....wasn't a very regular poster...rather a regular reader. But very glad the forum is back....extremely helpful people on here.
