  1. Yes the part number 4Z01015200 is for the wabco pump fitted to an Audi Q7 and Mercedes W220/W211. I don’t have the VW or merc part numbers anymore I’m afraid but I bought mine on eBay. Arrived next day in a VW box.
  2. Hi. I found the solenoid on eBay - it’s the same part as for a Vw. I’ll look back at my records and find out.
  3. Agree about the penetrating oil. the cold isn’t helping either! I do think that EGR isn’t really progress, but that’s for a different thread…
  4. Don’t forget to replace those seals! Both the copper one and the o ring at the top. And label them - it’s important to put them back in where they came from or you’ll have to mess about with ISTA reprogramming them all. Each one has a code printed on it that needs to be set in the ECM. There is a procedure to reset the smooth running adaptions once you’ve had them out and cleaned them up. Mine came out eventually with a sliding hammer. Got a set cheap set from Amazon which made the job really easy. What is your manifold like? Mine was disgusting.
  5. £95 for BMW pads & sensor from Stratstone BMW I think it’s £75 for textar last time I looked. The easiest way to tell which ones you need is to send them an email…. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203557913039?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=8SpjZ6w1QdG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Ek6EcSQUQNW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  6. I think you are right. Not sure about the floor plan under the carpet (water could possibly run between the two, however both would be equally wet). If it is just the rear carpet, it’s much more likely to be the rear door seal than the yellow gromet. easy fix
  7. Steering angle sensor? Sounds almost identical to the issue this guy had-
  8. It’s actually attached to the blower motor housing. No2 in the pic.

  10. Spray Contact cleaner on the electrical plugs. Got to be worth a try before you fire the parts cannon. I had some very odd issues with my auto levelling & cornering light motors and a good squirt of contact cleaner fixed it. They are a bit awkward to get to (bumper off on the f07, not sure about f11)
  11. The closest crossclimate is 255/35/20 and I need 275/35/20 ☹️
  12. Quick question. Anyone ditched their run flats for normal tyres? Make any difference? I last had run flats on an E91 335d and they were terrible. Swapped for normal tyres and the ride was improved considerably. However, that was quite a few years ago now and technology has moved on. So, is there still such a big difference? In my experience run flats also seemed to crack alloys (I had one on the E91 and two on my F07) and don’t even help when you do get a puncture (one puncture in the last 10 years happened to be on a run flat and the side wall went so it was undriveable anyway). Always carry repair kit, can of foam and a little compressor in the boot. And an AA membership. So, I need a pair of 275/35/20s for the rear this week and was wondering what other people’s experience was. finally what’s your preferred tyre? (can’t get all weather tyres in that size which is a shame I like as I like the cross climates).
  13. Stick your reg in here… https://aftermarket.zf.com/go/en/sachs/catalogs/#/
  14. Bolts are stretch fit aluminium so tis calls for all of them to be replaced. Not expensive really from BMW if you DIY. Not sure why independents don’t replace them. They do the same with calliper and wishbone bolts in my experience. Overkill from BMW maybe. I agree you shouldn’t have to replace the secondary/aux damper and it’s cover at all! No idea what the mechanism is that causes them to fail. I know newtis says to depressurise the air suspension (easy couple of mouse clicks if you have a tool for that), however I didn’t and it was fine. You need another Jack under the hub to raise it all back up to ‘normal’ level before the lower bolt is torqued up anyway which makes it easy. Top hat I’d say never having looked at mine. It Is basically a fancy shaped bracket. I can’t see how it would wear unless something is loose.
  15. Finally you can re use the top mount (aka thrust bearing) as It has no moving parts or bearings. Just an o ring presumably to stop muck getting up past it to the frame.
